Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
InferaStack Pty Ltd (“InferaStack”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. The short version
- This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics.
- We collect the details you choose to submit and limited request data needed to operate and protect the site.
- We never sell your personal information.
- You can ask us to access or correct your information, or make a complaint, at any time — see section 9.
2. What we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our functions (APP 3):
- Contact enquiries. When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, mobile number (if provided), organisation (if provided), your selected area of interest, contact preference, and the content of your message.
- Correspondence. If you email us directly, we keep that correspondence and your contact details. Our business email is hosted by AWS in the United States (see section 6).
- Essential site operation. Standard web-server request data (such as the page requested and a timestamp) may be processed transiently by our hosting provider to deliver the site securely. We do not use this to build a profile of you.
We do not collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act) through this website, and we ask that you do not send it to us via the contact form.
3. How your enquiry is handled
Contact-form submissions are stored in a private database in AWS's Sydney region. The form confirms success only after the enquiry has been saved. Our team receives an email notification containing a reference to the record, rather than your contact details or message. Authorised staff review the record and may respond by email or mobile using the details you supplied. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss our products and services with you. We do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
We also record an enquiry's status, assigned staff member and follow-up date to help us manage responses. To protect the form against excessive submissions, we temporarily store a hashed network address and a request count.
4. Cookies and storage
We use browser storage only to remember the light or dark theme you choose and, for the current tab, that you closed the homepage contact bar. If you are InferaStack staff signing in to the enquiry workspace, temporary sign-in state is kept in session storage for that tab. This storage does not identify you and is never used for advertising. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.
Should we introduce anonymous analytics in future, it will be loaded only after you opt in, and this policy will be updated before any such change takes effect.
5. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell or rent personal information. We disclose it only to the limited extent necessary (APP 6):
- Service providers who help us operate — principally AWS for website hosting, enquiry storage and email delivery — who act on our instructions under confidentiality and security obligations.
- Legal requirements, where disclosure is required or authorised by Australian law.
6. Overseas disclosure
We store website enquiries in Amazon Web Services' Asia Pacific (Sydney) region. Our website is hosted on AWS in Sydney and delivered through AWS's global content-delivery network. Our business email, including messages you send us directly, our replies, privacy requests and the reference-only notifications about new enquiries, is hosted by AWS in the United States. Before personal information is handled overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is treated consistently with the APPs (APP 8).
7. Security & retention
We apply organisational and technical safeguards — including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and the principle of least privilege — to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access (APP 11). We retain enquiry information only as long as needed to respond to and follow up on your enquiry, or as required by law, after which we destroy or de-identify it.
Website enquiry records are scheduled for automatic removal after 365 days and may be removed sooner when no longer needed. Automatic expiry can take additional time to complete, and backup copies may remain for up to 35 days after removal. Direct email correspondence is managed separately under the retention principle above. Temporary rate-limit records expire shortly after their counting window.
8. Your rights
Under the APPs you may:
- Access the personal information we hold about you (APP 12);
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date (APP 13);
- Ask us to delete information where we are not required to retain it;
- Withdraw consent to optional processing at any time.
We will respond to access and correction requests within a reasonable period and without charge where practicable.
9. Contact & complaints
For any privacy request or complaint, contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@inferastack.com or by post:
Privacy Officer, InferaStack Pty Ltd
Suite 3, 330 Wattle Street, Ultimo NSW 2007, Australia
We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
10. Links to other sites
InferaNote and InferaCard are products of AusConnect Innovation Alliance (ACIA). Their apps and acia.org.au are operated by ACIA under ACIA's own privacy policy. Other websites we link to, including LinkedIn, our partners' websites and the OAIC website, have their own privacy policies.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version. We will publish material changes on this page before they take effect.
This policy is provided in English. If there is any inconsistency between versions, the English version prevails to the extent permitted by law.
